The Crow's Nest - Wampus Sound StudioSay Hello to the Crow is a unique recording studio specializing in distinctive sonics for singer-songwriters. It is located in the Shenandoah Valley, 75 miles west of Washington, D.C.

Projects include collaborations with Brian Lucey (Elvis Costello, the Black Keys, Lucinda Williams), Jon Astley (Tori Amos, Pete Townshend, George Harrison), Jordan Zevon (“Warm Rain” from Hurry Home Early: the Songs of Warren Zevon), and Gaurav Mazumdar (sitarist for Ravi Shankar, Philip Glass).

The Crow produced After Hours: a Tribute to the Music of Lou Reed, If I Were a Richman: a Tribute to the Music of Jonathan Richman, Hurry Home Early, and records by Alice Despard, Casey Abrams, Johnny J Blair, Arms of Kismet, Waterslide, and others. Recent guest musicians include Audrey Karrasch (Alke), John Lee Sanders (Randy Newman, Jimmy Page), Adam “Ditch” Kurtz (Chris Shifflet, American Aquarium), Dan Hochhalter (Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban), Ritchie Rubini (The Caulfields), Clint Wells (Rodney Atkins), Eamon Loftus, Kowtow Popof, Chris Armes, Jimmy Maddox, and Steve Burdette.

The Crow is home to sonorous gear from the pristine to the low-fi. Guitars, loops, or multitracked harmonies, it’s all about getting your own distinctive sound.
